Add USB C charging to your GBA SP by removing the original port, and installing this custom PCB with USB C port. The mod includes a injection molded bezel to fill the hole left by the original port.
This mod allows you to charge the game boy advance SP’s internal battery using USB, you can also use the same port for headphones using a USB C to 3.5mm adapter.
The soldering level for this mod is medium to difficult, it requires some experience in soldering, as the solder points are quite small, there are 6 points to solder to achieve the charging and audio.
Removing the original port can be challenging for the inexperienced, good quality flux, solder and desolder braid, or a pump will be required to remove it before the new pcb can be fitted.
Shell cutting is not required, an injection molded plastic spacer is provided, and available in different colours to match Funnyplaying SP shell colours.
To listen to audio through headphones etc, you will need a USB C to 3.5mm adapter or USB C headphones, this must be without any DAC, just a basic low cost adapter.
