Solve Yellow light of death issues on your PS3 console by replacing faulty NEC token with 4 low profile and low ESR capacitors.
When it comes to a YLOD fault, lots of research in the gaming community points to the NEC Token capacitors failing, and the solution to this is to replace a NEC Cap with alternative low ESR 470uf caps, these need to be of a certain quality and profile to fit in place of the NEC Token.
Four of these 470uf capacitors are needed to replace a single NEC token, a PS3 can have a different number of Token, so you please order according to the number of token you will be replacing, or example if you are replacing 4 token, then please order a quantity of 4, you will receive 16 caps.
We offer two types of capacitor kit, one has an even lower ESR which is technically preferable, but either type are suitable, please select the ones you require from the drop down box.
1) Low ESR Panasonic tantalum which are the most commonly used capacitors for this type of repair.
2) Even lower ESR Panasonic Aluminum polymer – It is preferable to use the lowest ESR when replacing the NEC Token, so we provide these as an option.
