Description:
Upgrade the feel of your L & R buttons to a more modern and reassuring click with these tactile switches compatible with Game Boy Advance.
The original buttons have a soft feel when pressed, changing these out to tactile buttons introduces a reassuring light click and reduction in failed inputs.
These have a shorter actuator than the original, but due to the solid plunger and button type the travel needed to press the button is almost the same as the original if not slightly shorter travel.
This mod commonly referred to as a clicky triggers upgrade requires some DIY modification of the existing buttons to install. The original soft buttons must be desoldered and removed from the support brackets. The new tactile switches then need to be soldered into place and two of the legs trimmed off with cutters.
You should retain the back metal half of the old original switches, there are 4 small plastic posts which feed into the metal frame, these can be trimmed off to make it easier to seperarte the switch from the metal back part. It is advisable to use a small amount of glue or double sided tape to hold the new button against the metal frame of the old button.
